Where's Reggae?

This press release came Monday Afternoon, Jan. 29:

Hello,

Please note that this year’s Reggae on the River festival will take place on August 3rd, 4th, and 5th at French’s Camp in Piercy, California. Any rumors you may have heard to the contrary are false.

The Mateel Community Center and its board of directors, together with the new production company 2b1 Multimedia, look forward to another excellent year at Reggae on the River® 2007. A major shout out of thanks and recognition goes out to all of our supporters who come from all walks of life. Reggae on the River® is more than a destination. It is a cultural idea.

In The Spirit of Unity. Peace.

Reggae on the River

What seemed significant was the location -- "at French's Camp" -- not on the Dimmick Ranch.

Comments:
Wow - back to the old site. Crazy!

Probably a typo, but that would be cool with me.

As I clarified on Eric Kirk’s Blog, this is NOT intended to mean that Reggae will be at French’s Camp instead of the Dimmick Ranch. It just means that they intend to still have French’s Camp available for camping (as well as the Dimmick Ranch for the concert bowl). It’s in response to last week’s announcement from Tom Dimmick that he has terminated his lease with the Mateel, and a subsequent statement regarding his three-year lease option for French’s Camp.

If you’d like more details, read this week’s issue of “The Independent.” And, I’m sure, Bob will have more in the “NCJ” on Wednesday.

Hi Bob, that was sent out yesterday to clarify a statement heard on a Mendocino radio station.

Cristina Bauss's statement is accurate: My understanding is that the press release is intended to clarify that French’s Camp WILL still be a part of Reggae 2007 (as a camping facility), NOT that it’s substituting for the Dimmick Ranch (as the location of the concert bowl).

There was a television series a few years ago in which an attorney was fired from his job because of the impact of a missing comma in a 400 page document. The premise was ludicrous, as would be an extended discussion of a less than precisely worded sentence in this press release.
