STATEMENT FROM DIMMICK RANCH
Re: Termination of Lease between Mateel Community Center and Dimmick Ranch

We are truly disappointed that mediation has not resolved the issues surrounding the annual reggae event. However, our commitment is – and has always been – to the community, and we have and will continue to work closely with key non-profit organizations to uphold this commitment. Our goal is simply to produce a successful event that supports our community and makes public safety a priority. It is for these reasons that we originally entered into the contract for public use of our ranch and aligned with People Productions, which has a 23-year history of managing this event.

The guy in the picture was handing bottles to people as they entered the concert area coming from French's Camp. I asked him about it, he said it was a gift from the Dimmick family. I did not see this bottled water anywhere else. - Bob
The MCC and its membership, including People Productions, put on the show for 23 years.
PP has not as it hasn't been a company for that long.
I sure wish that people would not put spin on "facts" because it doesn't help the situation at all.
We put on the show.
Last year the festival was not safe, well organised, or successful.

Thank you Tom Dimmick and People Productions!
There are still many of us in this community that believe that, even though there has been much conflict, that Dimmick,PP and many volunteers will put their love and efforts into supporting the community & non-profits. And I am sure the Mateel will still benefit from this as well.

I'm betting the lineup will be off the hook. Thanks to Tom Dimmick for keeping the community in mind, even while at odds with the community center (a building). That's something I don't think people realize, they're not against the 'community', they're just against the current ED/BoD of the 'community center'. Non-profits will benefit still from this, contrary to what many have tried to lead you to believe. I'm sure even the Mateel will end up benefiting from this in the long run.

Eric, I'm going to attempt an answer to your question by quoting from a letter I received from one of the "no confidence" coordinators who is still loyal to Carol. Since this was a personal communication, I'm leaving that person's name out of it, but this is what I was told: "I know that Tom and Carol are committed to making sure the Mateel itself survives and if they had a successful event, they would take care of the Mateel, despite all the bad will going around…"

You can't just take the community center's event because you are against the board and the E.D. That's not being "for" the community.

The above quote IS NOT true. I was at the meeting last night hosted by Carol Bruno and Danny Scher at the Garberville Civic Hall. When Danny Scher was asked if they would be giving an endowment to the MCC he said "absolutely not, why would we give them money so that they could spend it on attorneys and sue us."
Danny Scher and Carol Bruno have no intentions of giving any money to the MCC.
They are in the process of becoming their own non-profit. Something along the lines of the Rex Foundation.

We gave water away all weekend at random times and random locations. The Dimmick Ranch Family all participated and we had a great time. As a matter of fact we still have some bottles left. Thank you for posting this. I haven't become a blogger yet due to the fact that I could very well become obsessed with it.

Where do "they" get the idea that "they" are the ones to decide who runs the Mateel? Are "they" so arrogant to think that 'they" are the all powerful that "they" can decide what is best for everybody? "They" have a lot to say about how the Mateel runs it's business but it is "they" who have failed to make any money (for two years) for the very entity that "they" say don't know how to run their business and therefore "they" will take the Mateel's main fundraiser away from them. The judge won't decide very soon. this will drag on through the courts for many years after reggaerising has risin
