Reggae Rising

The California Highway Patrol Garberville Area assisted People’s Production with the “Reggae Rising” musical festival on the Dimmick Ranch. According to the Garberville CHP commander Lt. G.R. Peck, “The planning, preparation, and execution resulted in a flawless operation reducing the loss of any lives and injuries. Lt. G.R. Peck also commented, “The attendees welcomed our officers both inside and outside of the event. Our officers made no observations inside the event to cause them to take enforcement actions.”

California Highway Patrol officers made less than 100 traffic enforcement contacts, approximately 65 notice to appears were issued for violations of speeding, pedestrians failing to follow regulatory signs, and some for mechanical and correction violations. A two car collision resulting in property damage only was associated with the event, and Officer Brian White made one arrest for Driving under the Influence of Alcohol and or Drugs.

People

Reggae photog Kim Sallaway sent this recent shot of the Reggae coordinators onsite. It reminded me of what Stephen Marley said when he was in town, "It's not really about the name, you know. It's the people." These are the people putting on the show this weekend. Click on the image and it will get larger. See if there's anyone you know...
